Mining has been a vital element to Utah’s economic well-being since the earliest days of settlement. Since 1915, the Utah Mining Association (UMA) has worked diligently will all facets of the Utah mining industry to strengthen jobs, build a sound and balanced tax base, provide critical minerals for modern life, help provide for education, and foster opportunities for growth in the state’s mining sector.

Today, UMA represents 25 companies that mine, process, smelt, or refine Utah minerals. UMA also represents more than 100 companies and individuals that provide mining with legal, banking and consulting services, supplies, equipment, and myriad other forms of support.
